Creation of an innovative Master Plan for the ‘Les Marronniers’ elementary school based on the principles of child-centred school design and, going further, offering an inclusive teaching environment for students with different learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
The project will provide a framework for individual interventions that respond to current educational approaches and are adaptable to future changes. The end result will be an environment where all children are welcome and feel part of an inclusive community – an environment that reinforces the core values of the International School.
One of the key features of the design is the adaptation of the fire concept, allowing for ample circulation areas to be used as regulating transition as well as alternative learning spaces. Barriers are replaced by an orchestrated sequence of environments, preparing the students for their next activity.
